This year marks the 76th anniversary of the Kit-Cat Clock. With this being a very important election year the theme is “Spirit of 76”. In celebration, California Clock Company has decided to make three unique clock colors. The new colors for the clocks are Metallic Red, Metallic White and Metallic Blue. Only a thousand of each color will be made and each box will be numbered. Wow, this is so exciting! For more details, scroll down to the Kit-Cat special. I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. We sure did, our daughter had so much candy this year that my husband had to carry her bag home. Besides all the candy, they had a great time looking at all the cool costumes. This year we will donate more then half of her candy to our local church that sends it to kids in Iraq and Afghanistan. The trees are so gorgeous and in full fall colors where I live. My family has started a tradition of raking the leaves together. It truly is hard work sometimes, but we have fun putting all the leaves into a big pile and letting our daughter jump into them. This year we have been helping our elderly neighbors by raking their leaves. It has been great to see their faces with relief when they realize it's one less thing they have to do. So I encourage all of you to get out there and help a neighbor in your neighborhood. Have a great Thanksgiving and a safe November. Keep Smiling!!! Share funny stories, pictures and have fun with the Kit-Cat MySpace Page.   The Official Kit-Cat MySpace Page - Click Here   November Recipe (Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake) 1 3/4 cups unbleached all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature 1 1/4 cups sugar 3 large eggs 1 cup canned pure pumpkin 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/3 cup whole milk 3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour 9x5x2 1/2-inch metal loaf pan. Sift first 5 ingredients into medium bowl. Using electric mixer, beat butter in large bowl until smooth. Gradually beat in sugar, then beat in eggs 1 at a time. Beat in pumpkin and vanilla. Beat dry ingredients into pumpkin mixture alternately with milk. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Transfer batter to prepared pan. Bake loaf cake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 55 minutes. Cool in pan on rack 15 minutes. Turn cake out onto rack; cool completely. (Can be made 2 days ahead. Wrap in plastic; store at room temperature.) Makes 12 servings.     Spending time in the kitchen together making delicious treats is FUN! For more recipes- Click Here   Member of the Month Name - William City - Southaven, Mississippi Kit-Cat(s) - Classic Black Kit-Cat Moment - My Kit-Cat story started when someone left a black basic Kit-Cat clock in the kitchen or break room of a building that I rented when I started my business. From day one business was very good, and continued for the first several months. Then all of a sudden it seemed like we just shut down. For the next several days we were below 60% of our normal average for no apparent reason. One day a staffer noted that the Kit-Cat clock had stopped. The next morning I replaced the batteries and the clock started up and so did the business, we had reached our normal quota within days. I'm not saying that the Kit-Cat clock is the reason for our success, but needless to say I have not let the batteries in the Kit-Cat clock run down again for the last 28 years.     Fan Club- Click Here   Encouragement Chronicles 1.
