Wind Chimes
Ahead of time, start saving tin cans in
various sizes, including one 48 oz. juice can. You will need four small cans plus the
large one. Cut the top off of the 48 oz. can and make one hole in the center of the bottom
and then four holes evenly spaced around the center hole, using a hammer and nail. Punch a
hole in the center of small can. using various lengths of twine or heavy string, tie one
end of each string to a hole in the large can. Then push the other end into the hole in a
small can. Tie a large knot in the end of the string to keep it from
pulling back through the hole. Hang cans at various levels, but make sure they can touch
one another when the wind blows. Leave cans silver, or paint them before assembling.
Decals may be added if desired.
